23-year-old Khadijah Britton was last seen in Covelo, California on February 7, 2018, after she was forced into the back of her ex-boyfriend’s vehicle at gunpoint.
Khadijah Rose Britton was born on April 22, 1994. She is a Wailaki member of the Round Valley Indian Tribes of the Round Valley Reservation in Mendocino County, California. She attended the local high school where she was a star athlete, and graduated in 2012.
In 2015, Khadijah started a relationship with Negie Fallis IV, a native American man who was older than Khadijah. He was the father of four children.
In 2018, after ending her relationship with Fallis, Khadijah was staying at a house in the 23000 block of Airport Road in Covelo, California.
On January 30, 2018, police responded to a domestic violence incident involving Khadijah and Negie Fallis at his home in Covelo. Khadijah told police that Fallis had tried to kill her with a hammer. After the incident, she broke up with him and moved in with her friend on Airport Road.
At around midnight on February 7, 2018, Khadijah’s ex-boyfriend Negie Fallis, went to Khadijah’s residence armed with a gun demanding to speak to her. Witnesses stated a physical altercation occurred between the two and Khadijah was last seen being forced into Fallis’ black Mercedes sedan at gunpoint. The car then drove away from the scene.
On February 10, Khadijah’s family filed a missing persons report with the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office when she didn’t come home.
On February 19, 2018, 37-year-old Negie Fallis IV was arrested on domestic violence charges relating to the hammer incident. Court records show that Fallis had a history of domestic violence. Additional charges for attempted murder, kidnapping, and assault with a deadly weapon were dropped due to a lack of evidence.
In March of 2018, the FBI joined the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Department in the search for Khadijah Britton.
On March 11, 2018, a large-scale search led by the Sheriff’s Office took place in Round Valley, California, around the area where Khadijah was last seen. More than 100 people assisted in the search and rescue operation. The search focused primarily on roadways in the area. The area surrounding Lake Mendocino was also searched in late March but nothing was found.
In December 2018, Fallis was sentenced to 4 years in prison after pleading no contest to felony firearm charges. He was released after 15 months.
In June 2020, 4 months after being released, Fallis was involved in a car accident where police found him with firearms and drug paraphernalia. He was sent back to prison for 27 months, serving just 13.
Police suspect foul play in Khadijah Britton’s disappearance. Negie Fallis IV is considered a person of interest.
The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
A reward of $85,000 has been offered by donors for information leading to Khadijah’s location.
Khadijah Britton is considered a missing person.
