Alisha Apostoloff-Boyarin was reported missing by her grandmother on February 2, 2022. She was 24 years old.
In the lead up to her disappearance, on January 14, 2022, Alisha was picked up in a 2003 gold-coloured Volkswagen Passat Saloon and travelled to the Bishop Auckland area in County Durham.
Then on January 17, 2022, she was spotted on CCTV in an Asda, with a man, who due to covid is wearing a face mask. Alisha used her card to buy some items. This is the last transaction recorded from her bank account. After this she was spotted in the passenger seat of the VW car with the same man.
On January 22, 2022, in the same vehicle, Alisha was seen travelling from Glossop towards Chapel-en-le-Frith in Derbyshire. She has not been seen since.
At the time of her disappearance, Senior Investigating Officer DCI Andrew Naismith said:
“Although Alisha has not yet been located, following a number of enquiries we do believe that she has come to serious harm.”
In a statement made by Alisha’s family, they said:
“We know in our hearts that someone has prevented Alisha from coming home to us and that she is no longer alive. Alisha’s world revolved around her family.”
In March 2024, 61-year-old, David Alex Taylor of Willington, Durham, was charged with the murder of Alisha Apostoloff-Boyarin.
Despite extensive searches carried out by police in Derbyshire, Alisha’s body has never been found.
